How do you sign “Minute” in ASL?
MINUTE: MINUTE in American Sign Language (ASL) names the short unit of time, and the same sign counts minutes in the plural. The video and animated demonstration below show the sign.

When do you use the sign MINUTE?
MINUTE measures waits, cooking times, and the famous just-a-minute that never is. Duration talk uses it beside HOUR, and appointment small talk keeps both busy. ASL builds counted time neatly, so five minutes rides on the same sign that one minute uses.
It appears in Lesson 34 of Book 1 with the daily-routine vocabulary.
