What does SAD mean in ASL?
SAD reports bad news, describes a hard day, and responds with sympathy when someone shares theirs. Emotion signs like this one are also storytelling tools; in ASL narrative, showing a character’s feelings on your own face is part of the grammar, not decoration.
Book 3 teaches it in Lesson 92, paired with HAPPY and the rest of the emotions set.
